Based on an interview I conducted with Phebian Odufuwa, a PhD student at Boise State who does research into the phylogenetic classification of plants based on genetic sequence analysis. This analysis requires heavy computation to be done in a reasonable amount of time, hence her use of our department’s supercomputing resources.
